What is Agneepath Scheme?

The Indian Military Forces will enroll chosen applicants as Agniveers for a four-year period as part of the central government’s Agneepath/Agnipath Plan. 46,000 Agniveers will be recruited by the Military Services this year through the Agnipath/Agneepath program. After the four years are out, Aginveers will return to society as a disciplined, vibrant, motivated, and talented workforce to pursue careers in other industries.

The Agneepath Plan is a move taken to recruit 46,000+ Agniveers into the Indian Army, Indian Navy, and Indian Air Force. For the first 4 years, admission through the Agneepath Scheme 2024 would be carried out. These four years would be used to train the recruits.

Agnipath or Agneepath is a recruitment scheme for the Indian youth who wish to join the Armed Forces. Agnipath scheme, a recruitment process for individuals below the rank of officer, with the goal of deploying fitter, younger troops on the front lines, many of whom will be on four-year contracts. The broad objectives of the Agnipath/Agneepath Scheme are-

1. To enhance the youthful profile of the Armed Forces so that they are at their fighting best at all times with increased risk-taking ability.

2. To imbibe the Armed Forces ethos, courage, commitment, and teamwork in the youth.

3. To provide abilities and qualities such as discipline, motivation, dynamism, and work skills so that youth remains as an asset.

4. To provide an opportunity to the youth who may be keen to serve the Nation in uniform for a short period of time.

5. To attract youth talent among the society to effectively exploit, adapt, and use emerging modern technologies with enhanced technical thresholds of intake while leveraging Technical institutions of the country.

Agneepath/ Agnipath Yojana Qualification

The education qualification for each department has been tabulated as below-

Agneepath/ Agnipath Scheme Age Limit Details

The candidates who are under the age group of 17.5 years to 23 years (revised) are eligible to have an advantage of the Agneepath Scheme for the Agniveer batch in the Indian Army, Indian Air Force, and Indian Navy.

Agneepath Yojna Agniveer Salary

The salary for Agniveers in the 1st year will be around Rs. 4.76 lakh per annum which increases to Rs. 6.92 lakh per annum for the final year.
